Sometimes suffering does not end with the first blow. The crisis passes, but the pain remains…or something else happens, and the suffering becomes even more personal.
This Sunday we continue through the book of Job in Job 2:1-13. Job loses his health, faces another direct temptation to turn away from God, and is joined by three friends who, at least initially, show us something beautiful about caring for people who hurt.
We will see that Satan is real but not sovereign, that genuine faith can hold onto God through deep anguish, and that sometimes the most loving thing we can do for someone who is suffering is simply come close and stay.
When suffering deepens, God remains sovereign, faith holds fast, and God’s people draw close.
Join us Sunday for The Book of Job - Part 2: When the Pain Gets Personal.
