Events Coordinator
Rockford, IL
Organize and coordinate special events, including recruiting and supervising volunteers to support event activities. Manage kitchen operations and promote adherence to established usage guidelines. Procure supplies as required. Prepare comprehensive written protocols for hosting events at Crosspoint and for kitchen operations management.

General Expectations
- Be a member of Crosspoint Church according to the By-laws.
- Comply with the guidelines and requirements of the Crosspoint Church Rockford Employee Handbook.
- Participate in required scheduled staff meetings, retreats, and training. Assist with coordinating retreats.
- Be available for varied hours to lead events, as they occur.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate special events, including but not limited to Easter breakfast, chili cookoff, potlucks, summer picnic, baby showers, and leadership retreats.
- Shop for food and other items that may be needed for the events, ensuring quality and cost effectiveness.
- Serve as the Crosspoint contact person for weddings and funerals by helping the parties understand the services offered, assisting with the event, and answering questions as they occur.
- Recruit, schedule, train, and oversee volunteers to assist with special events while ensuring the events are in order and on time.
- Oversee the kitchen, ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment, including disposing of expired food, checking equipment for functionality, ordering supplies, maintaining the supply of paper products for Café use, and making certain that linens and towels are clean and ready for use. Schedule and conduct a deep cleaning of the kitchen at least twice a year, leading volunteers for the project.
- Maintain a determined level of inventory, including communion supplies, ordering replacements as necessary.
- Obtain and keep a current Food Handler Certification. The church will pay/reimburse the cost of training and updates.
- Develop written guidelines for having events at Crosspoint, as well as guidelines for kitchen operations in conjunction with church staff and in alignment with the mission and vision of Crosspoint.
- Oversee the “Meal Train” by sending notices to church members who have expressed interest in helping those in need of assistance with meals for a period of time; and Meal Train notices to Crosspoint attenders to notify them of opportunities to bring food and/or serve at church events.

- A growing relationship with Christ and agreement with the mission and visionof Crosspoint Church
- Warm and caring attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and high integrity
- Ability and willingness to respond to the needs of others, including leadership, staff, church members, and visitors
- Demonstrated good judgment, organizational and detail-oriented skills, and ability to develop administrative processes and procedures to produce quality results and meet established deadlines
- Effective leadership and development of volunteer teams
- Ability to solve problems while remaining calm
- Ability to recognize and readily adapt to changing priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and concise files
- Team player, cooperating and interacting with staff, leadership, and volunteers
- Two-five years administrative experience preferred
- Affirmation without reservations of Crosspoint’s Statement of Faith found in the By-laws
- Willingness to complete a criminal background check
