Baptism

A young woman in a baptismal pool covers her face emotionally as a smiling man stands behind her. The word BAPTISM is written in large white letters.

THE HEART BEHIND IT

Why Do We Get Baptized?

Jesus Himself was baptized and commanded His followers to do the same. While baptism does not save you, it is an essential act of obedience and a beautiful symbol of the Gospel.

An Outward Symbol - Baptism is an outward, public symbol of an inward, personal reality. It shows the world that you have trusted Jesus for salvation.

Buried and Raised - Going under the water represents the death and burial of your old, sinful life. Coming up out of the water represents the resurrection of Jesus and your new life in Him.

Joining the Family - It is a unifying celebration that publicly identifies you with Christ and with His global body of believers, the Church.

Interested in Baptism?

We believe that baptism by immersion in water is a public identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

Baptism is not required for salvation, but it is commanded of all believers (Matthew 28:19-20;Acts 2:3841; Acts 18:8). The waters of baptism are a symbol of death, burial, and resurrection to newness of life. This newness of life happens when a person becomes a new creation in Christ (Colossians 2:122 Corinthians 5:17;Romans 6:1-4).
