Clean Again - Psalm 51

This Sunday, we will be in Psalm 51, one of the most honest prayers of repentance in all of Scripture. After David’s sin was exposed, he did not come to God with excuses, bargaining, or self-defense. He came asking for mercy. Psalm 51 shows us what true repentance looks like: telling the truth about our sin, asking God to make us clean, seeking a renewed heart, and trusting Him to restore what sin has broken. Most of all, we will see that the mercy David cried out for has come near to us in Jesus Christ, who cleanses the guilty and makes people new.
